Branch Meetings

We meet from September to May on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Branch meetings feature presentations on pedagogy, masterclasses by renowned faculty/performers, as well as recitals by teachers and members of the Young Artists Guild (YAG).

MTAC Certificate of Merits

The Certificate of Merit® program is exclusively open to MTAC Teachers and their students. It provides a standardized pathway for music-student growth across multiple instruments.

Annual Festivals & Competitions

There are multiple opportunities to showcase student performers throughout the years. From the Bach/Baroque Festival to the the Theme Festival, there are judges, feedback and awards. Winners often go on to regional competitions, and opportunities are provided for all instruments.

These are scheduled throughout the year, and the MTAC OCW Branch is here to help you showcase your students' accomplishments.

Music Students' Service League (MSSL)

This student-run program shares the gift of music with the community by giving recitals in retirement facilities. This provides each teacher and student the opportunity to experience the spirit of volunteerism. For more information, contact msslonline@gmail.com

Mission Statement

In accordance with the mission of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), the mission of the Orange County West Branch of the MTAC is to establish excellence in the music teaching profession through high standards for membership, exemplary ethical values, and the furtherance of musical education by its members to promote artistic growth through our branch activities and programs.

Our mission is to facilitate, support, and encourage good teaching practices—to the purpose that our students will appreciate and enjoy quality music.  We are dedicated to providing a broad cultural music education to inspire and help our students reach their potential as a musician and a compassionate person.
